Another Great Book!

Loved this book! I love how the author has two people find each other and they are very different but yet are meant to be. The saying opposites attract is very true in these books and I think that is what makes them so interesting to me. Each one that finds each other helps the other one with their faults by lifting them up and making them realize they are loveable no matter how they look. Looks are not everything and in these books that is so true.
Kal and Sal are different in so many ways. Kal is the dominate one and Sal is the submissive but both want to please the other one any way possible so that they both are happy. The author gets your attention with the main characters and then slips in some other trouble that has to do with Kal and Sal but they are not the only ones involved. Angelique Voisen's books keep me guessing up until the very end and that's why I keep reading them. There is love and problems throughout the entire story but you just are not sure how it's going to end.
I will keep reading Angelique's books because I just can't get enough of her writing about these fantastic wolves shifters. The wolves of New Haven is one series I just want to keep reading.

Ketogenic Wolf is the seventh book in the New Haven Wolves series by author Angelique Voisen. I felt this book is a good stand alone plus a great addition if you are a follower of the series. I love how Ms. Voisen gave us a really great back story for Kal. I really wanted him to find family, and love. He really deserves it. He is ruthless, kind, loving, and is the man you want as your friend. He loves his brothers and when he gives his heart he does it with all that he is. True Alpha hero type.
Sal now he did not have such a great build up. When we meet him he is in a meeting to lose some weight. His insecurities make him question weather or not he should be with Kal. For as hard as he makes Kal work to be with him, Sal really is just scared of risking his own heart to love. At the end he did come around and finally be the mate I really wanted for Kal.
I wished this book was longer mostly because I adored it that much. But for a short story this is a great glimpse into the life of the New Haven Wolf pack. I hope to see many more in the future.

Play Don Helms actual steel guitar arrangements.

If you're like me, you've spent many hours listening to Don Helms' solos on Hank Williams records, trying to get them just right. Well, here's some good news. Don has tabbed out all of those hits and assembled them into one book. Each song is played as a steel guitar instrumental, complete with the classic signature hooks and fills.

Don plays an 8 string E13th tuning, but this course can be played on just the top six strings (E6th): E G# B C# E G# (low to high). The sound is high and lonesome, and instantly familiar. Songs include:

1. Your Cheatin' Heart
2. Hey Good Looking
3. Jambalaya
4. Mansion On The Hill
5. Take These Chains From My Heart
6. I Saw The Light
7. You Win Again
8. Wedding Bells
9. Cold Cold Heart
10. I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry

The accompanying CD has two versions of each song - one with Don Helms playing the steel part, and the other as a rhythm track, so that you can perform the steel part yourself.

Fun!!!

I am now a Hank Williams fan, thanks to this book. I bought it on a whim, looking for something new and different to play on my lap steel. The book says it is for the E13 tuning, and eight strings. None of the songs as tabbed in the book utilize the two lowest strings, so tuning the 6-string guitar to E6 works. I have really enjoyed learning the tunes from the well-written tablature. The accompanying CD has two tracks for each song: one instrumental version that includes the steel part so you can hear what it should sound like, and a vocal track sans steel guitar so you can play along. The CD is well-done and sounds good. I highly recommend this book!

Don Helms: Genius At Work

It is Mr. Don Helms himself on steel. That alone is worth the price of this book, which I will treasure along with his innumerable contributions to the world of music. There are transcriptions in tablature, but you will be better off using your ear where steel guitar is concerned. This book helps you understand the logic and profound simplicity of the Don Helms style, including intros, fills, endings; not to mention those beautiful melodies. While this ostensibly an instructional book, for me it is even more cherished as a memento of incredibly soulful artist whose work lives on.

This is a great nursing theory literature currently being used in online Master course . As confusing as theory can get I feel this book does a great job of clearing it up but theory is theory and not every one will feel the same. You do have to possess a love of logic to appreciate this puzzle. I was pleased with the price since this online school was selling at a higher pricing and I received my books in a timely fashion and I love Amazon for that.

Im nearly half way through the book (it is a thin book) and all i can say is wow! Although most so far is nothing "new" to me to read, the book is so straight forward and almost like it's talking to me. I feel as though a parent is teaching me tough love and telling me straight up what i need to hear. It's easy to read and i love the examples/anaology it uses. Good read just when i needed that kick in the ass to wake up or keep going.

The fourth anthology compiled by Hanging Loose Magazine, this is a collection filled with stories that are true, down-to-earth, and heartfelt. The compilation is done well, and high school students seem well-represented by this small group of stories and poems.

This 2007 edition has some changes from the 2003 edition (link:Communication in History: Technology, Culture, and Society (4th Edition)), but at a price difference of almost $100, I'd go with the earlier edition, which is still excellent.

Solid Academic Readings

The book is composed of historical essays, about 40 of them. Most of the essays are between 6 - 10 pages long. The book covers communication over a range of topics: Media of Early Civilization, Western Literacy, Print Revolution, Telegraph, Telephone, Photography, Motion Pictures, Radio, TV, and the Internet. They are written by noted authors, such as Walter Ong, Harold Innis, James Burke, Eric Havelock, Elizabeth Eisenstein, Marshall McLuhan and Neil Postman.

You are going to get a perspective on change, as communication technologies evolved throughout history. What were the contemporaneous thoughts as a transition was made from an oral society to a written one? Why was the invention of the phonetic alphabet important? Who were the controllers of communication in the Middle Ages? What effect did the printing press have and who were the early readers? Ever heard of the "optical" telegraph and why did it come and go so quickly? How did pictures and photos make their way into journalism? Nickelodeon, what's that? Can you imagine radio without advertisements? Who were the DXers? How did politics play a role in the creation of network TV? How did television bring the American family together? What is a prime-time hippie?

If those topics rouse your curiosity, the book may interest you. Historical essays go beyond dates and people, as the authors research (and muse) about the influence of technology on culture. You may find that some aspects of the transitional phase from one technology to another remain the same. I think the book is used most often as a foundational text for history classes. It can be a jumping-off-point for many of the topics.

The weakest part of the book is the last section that covers more recent events pertaining to the Internet. Some of the essays in this section did change from the 5th to the 6th edition. Perhaps not enough time has passed for historians to be able to take a more insightful look at this period.
