Suspenseful and Fun Short Read!

I really enjoyed this novelette. The who-dun-it feel is real and the mystery is fun to follow. There's a paranormal feel to it and a spark between a few characters. I hope this is a glimpse of what is to come from this author because I look forward to reading more. If you like short stories to unwind from the day, or read during lunch hour, this is the perfect story for you!

Murder in the Bougainvillea (Natasha Green Mystery Book One) by Gillian Adams was a fast, fun read.

I gave this paranormal five mystery stars. I look forward to reading more about these characters in subsequent books.

Natasha Green owns Green Thumb Gardens even though she's in her early twenties. She arrived at the Luxus Country Hotel & the manager was trying to discern 'what' she was. She selected jasmine & peace lilies to take there for their calming properties.

"Some supernaturals could sense the type of magic you had, whether it was inherent or forged, and they never knew what to make of me.

"I was an anomaly, a sort of dead zone for magic. I couldn't use it or have it used on me. In a world where magic mattered, this was a deadly shortcoming I worked hard to hide." She studied body language & attitude to avoid giving away her lack of magical talent.

She became a prime suspect in a murder, with her assistant, Sid & her cousin Dom, via cell phone to help her. Can the real suspect be found before she's forced to take a truth spell which would reveal her secrets?

This is a very cute short story involving mythical creatures and a murder mystery at the same time. The gardener, Natasha Green, has no magical powers, but in order to keep this a secret, she has to solve the murder.

When we meet Natasha, she is a normal looking young woman in her early twenties, with a small frame, short brown hair and green eyes…unfortunately, she is also a dead zone for magic, which would be disastrous should anybody discover her secret. Even her assistant Sid, a pixie, albeit an unusual one because he isn’t mischievous, still has powers that come in handy for a gardener.

Natasha hides her lack of magical powers by wearing what appears to be a “black box” magic disrupter at her waist.

When a demon is found killed on the bougainvillea terrace, Natasha is the prime suspect, as her garden shears are the murder weapon. Detective Harlow, a dwarf, is convinced she is guilty and sees no reason to look any further. Can Natasha protect her secret and find the murder, or is she doomed?

Great buy.

I am taking a course on coding and this book is required. Great book. Tons of helpful hints, color coded information, etc. Be sure to get the Expert for Physicians edition. It is well worth it. And if you are taking a course, this is a great book to own, not borrow. You will need it to take the test and get certified, and they recommend you get very familiar with your personal coding book.

Expect excellence from Osprey's "Aircraft of the ACEs" series. This one, #15, is no exception. A brief history of the V-VS preceeds the chronicle of its record, from battle to battle, during the War. After the massive losses of Barbarossa, the Red air force very gradually, and at great cost, achieved air superiority. The progression of improvements in tactics is covered quite nicely in the text. The book contains many rare action photos from Soviet and German military archive, descriptions of all the fighter aircraft in the Soviet inventory, bios of the ACEs, color plates of uniforms and individual pilots' aircraft, reproductions of propaganda posters, and plenty of lists and stats. In addition is information about the famous "Free French" Normandie Niemen regiment and Polish, Czech, Romanian and Yugoslav divisions; female regiments and women ACEs; "suicide" (taran) rammers; and "legless wonders" -- amputees who returned to the front and flew with artificial limbs. Readers of this book will also appreciate Osprey #6,"Fw 190 ACEs of the Russian Front" and Time-Life's out-of-print (Epic of Flight) "The Soviet Air Force at War".

Compact, Well Laid Out, And Informative

I was pleasantly surprised as to the information contained in this small, but compact, volume. On the areas that I had expertise in, I found the writers to be highly accurate. At first, I thought that the book would be another one of those flashy paperbacks with no substance or depth. I learned a lot about the Aces, the aircraft, the techniques, and the capabilities of the Soviet Airmen and Airwomen. I will now, (in fact I already have), buy more in this informative series. (I wish that the publisher would come out with a volume on Italian WWII Aces and Spanish Civil War Aces...if they do, I'm buying them)

Excellent, practical book for the veterinarian who does equine reproductive work (whether occasional or regular), those want to get into equine reproductive work. Horse breeders can also benefit from this book as a number of the practices can be performed by them and it also an aid in understanding those that are performed by veterinarians. Highly recommend!

Excellent Material

I really congratulate the author on maintaining this edition fresh. I actually come from an IT Systems and apps area.When I had to take the deep dive into Telecom and specially into SS7 I was suggested Russels 2nd edition and thats all that I needed to jump in.Simple, crisp and great images.

With the 5th edition I just moved into 3 major telco projects in NGN and the book was just what I needed.

Over the course of 20 years, Herdt made 13 field trips to live with the Sambia in order to understand sexuality and ritual in the context of warfare and gender segregation. Herdt's essays examine Sambia fetish and fantasy, ritual nose-bleeding, the role of homoerotic insemination, the role of the father and mother in the process of identity formation, and the creation of a "third sex" in nature and culture. He also discusses the representation of homosexuality in cross-cultural literature on premodern societies, arguing that scholars have long viewed desires through the tropes of negative western models. Herdt asks us to reconsider the realities and subjective experiences of desires in their own context, and to rethink how the homoerotic is expressed in radically divergent sexual cultures.

These nine essays, published between 1980 and 1991, approach male homosexual practices among a Papua New Guinea society Herdt (anthropology, San Francisco State Univ.) refers to as the Sambia. There is also a good deal of theoretical discussion of sexual identity in a cross-cultural framework. Much of this material has also appeared in Herdt's Guardians of the Flutes and The Sambia: Ritual and Gender in New Guinea. For the most part, these essays are concerned with description and analysis of the ritualized insemination of young boys by older males. While Herdt takes great care to relativize the homosexual aspects of these practices, it is striking how little there is in the way of commentary on the matter of elders taking sexual advantage of children, a topic of considerable immediacy in contemporary America. Repetitious recycling of some important work

Herdt has spilled millions of word about pederastic initiation among the people he has called the Sambia. Anyone but a hardcore, masochistic anthropologist would do better to read his Holt book _The Sambia_ than this minimally edited, highly repetitious recycling of some of his journal articles. The introduction is particularly opaque and unhelpful. Herdt is a recovering Freudian who takes a thousand words to say what could be said clearly in a sentence.
