Exactly What I Needed!

Several books I have read on this subject were a bit disappointing, but not this one. It is exactly as described, a book full of lessons for teaching in resource-poor environments, often with little more than your backpack. Last week a taught my students here in Cambodia about adjectives by pulling items from my backpack one at a time and having them come up with all the different modifiers they could think of; an idea from this book. They loved it because they never knew what was coming out of the pack next. (Who would have guessed I had a snorkel in there? They weren't sure what it was but they came up with 15 adjectives to describe it.) Fun, easy, effective lessons for situations that demand a large dose of creativity.
