Yet another short story
By Pitbully
And yet another 250 page "novel" from Morgan Rice. This has been a great series, but the books are so painfully short it feels nothing more then an author spamming out ebooks, trying to make a buck off readers. Any 3 of these short stories would have made a great novel, but Morgan insists on pushing out 200-250 page short stories and charging $3-5 for each. I would love to tell you that these books can hang with authors like Terry Goodkind, George RR Martin, J.K. Rowling and Robin Hobb and in truth, they could, if she were to write an actual novel, but I'm done spending $3 on a book I can read inside 3 hours.
As I said before, both my Son and I have followed this series for quite some time and we've looked forward to the conclusion, but once again its nowhere in site, just another $3 out of your pocket and the feeling that you've been fleeced by an author that could be so much more.

Ineffable twaddle!
By Patrick Mullan
The grammar and spelling errors are horrendous! Seriously, does anyone edit or proof read these books before they are published? There are missing words in sentences, and sometimes the author uses the wrong character's names when writing about them. A main character, in each chapter, experiences love, hate, warmth, joy, rage, and terrible grief in the space of a few sentences. Everyone's eyes fill with tears every few paragraphs and then they are filled with incredible happiness. Every time some one says something, the rest of the characters look at them with a new sense or respect or awe. It's an endless cycle of repetitive nonsensical emotions and responses. Worst of all, there is a repeated use of phrases like, "I, myself can't do that." Well, I, myself will not be buying anyone more of these books until the author actually puts some effort into writing them. It's little wonder that Amazon is giving some of these books away for no charge.

Sad and slow
By Yumbat
I have read the series to date.....and am wondering why.
I know fantasy inherently ignores reality....but there is a point where the realities have to be adhered to.
Here is a mid teen boy...a goat herder ...living in a family of abuse. This lad takes it upon himself to travel to the city...join the legion and become a noted warrior....in a day.
Add....his mentor becomes the most notable knight....his best friend is the kings youngest son and he falls in love with the younger princess.
And this is the almost ok stuff.........
The author has the need to either have a new monster or issue on each page (i guess more monsters take our mind off the
very poor scripting) OR a blow by blow battle scenario that reads very much like a Dungeons and Dragons dice roll.
Having endured thus far i will read no more....a pity....there were some interesting ideas thrown up.
